Wedding Syndrome- Seth Godin

"Running a business is a lot more important than starting one.
Choosing and preparing for the job you'll do for the next career is a much more important task than getting that job. Serving is more important than the campaign.
And a marriage is always more important than a wedding.
It's tempting to focus on the product launch, on the interview, on the next thing. Tempting, but ultimately a waste.
Our culture is organized around transitions, but they're a distraction. What it says on your wedding invitation doesn't matter a whole lot in the long run."
-Seth Godin
Just let that sink in, please.

We all have profound things to say.

Then why do we quite often only give credibility to those that are slightly older than us?

If a child does or says something out of the norm, it's "childish".

If an elderly person does or says something out of the norm, it's them being "old".

If someone our age  does or says something out of the norm, it's "risky".

If a teenager does or says something out of the norm, it's them trying to be "different".

But if someone slightly older decides to take the leap and go against the grain, it's "inspiring".

Why don't we allow ourselves to listen to all ages and live in a constant state of being inspired?

A life without a passion isn't a life to live.

Discover what you love.

And then run like crazy with it.

When we're stuck on the past, our future begins to crumble. Doubt and fear start to set in, and we begin to truly believe, that we can't do what ever we'd like to do.

How does one stop this way of thinking?

When we're stuck on the past, it's hard to change our belief system and immediately start thinking positively and focusing on the future.

But gratitude.

It brings us to the present.

It's a stepping stone to jump into the future.

Remember that daily.

Find Your Friends

p1+p2=p ("p" meaning momentum)

This shows that as two things come in contact and stay in contact, the total momentum is the sum of both objects' momentum.

Jim Rohn said, "You are the average of the five people you spend most of your time with", but I believe that we are the sum.

Who, in your life, has or is gaining a large amount of momentum? Find them, and hold onto them.

What's Your Purpose?

As a son? Daughter? Student? Human?

It's quite the question, but when answers come it'll be worth the time spent thinking about it.

Run Like Crazy

Sometimes what we need in life is not a long list of plans, but to hit the ground running. And run like crazy.

Run in zig zags.

Run in circles.

Just run.

You might get closer to the right path than you were when you were planning non-stop.

"People who succeed have momentum. The more they succeed, the more they want to succeed, and the more they find a way to succeed. Similarly, when someone is failing, the tendency is to get on a downward spiral that can even become a self-fulfilling prophecy. "
-Tony Robbins

Just to shed some more light on what was said yesterday.

p=mv is an equation anyone who has dabbled in physics is familiar with. It means that momentum is equal to the product of both the mass and velocity of the object studied.

How does this apply to us more than in just kinematics?

Well, the faster you give your new ideas mass, the more momentum you will have as you move toward your end goal.

Old School

With an outdated schooling system, we've learned to regurgitate facts.

What would happen if schools were catered to our day and taught the future generations how to use, assess, and analyze the unlimited amount of knowledge we now have at our fingertips (also known as the internet)?

A Much Needed Change

The world doesn't need anymore number one students.
The world needs more collaborators.
